Lollapalooza Project
This poster was created for a visual communication project focused on designing a functional yet expressive calendar system for the 2025 Lollapalooza music festival. The challenge was to transform a month-long calendar into both a structural grid and a dynamic graphic element that reflects the festival’s energy.
By integrating typography, imagery, and geometric forms, the final design captures the vibrancy, motion, and atmosphere of Lollapalooza while clearly organizing the lineup and schedule.
This project unfolded in two distinct phases. The first phase focused on a strict black-and-white system built around typographic discipline. We were required to use only the Helvetica family for all textual information and the Zapf typeface family specifically for the calendar structure. With the festival lineup and event details provided, the challenge was to craft a compelling poster using only hierarchy, layout, rhythm, and form, without relying on color. This stage emphasized clarity, function, and the structural logic of the calendar as a design element.
